This sentence comes from the findings of a new study conducted by psychology professors at Columbia University, the University Of Wisconsin-Madison, and Harvard University.

Essentially, the study asserts that internet search is destroying our "internal memory."

Apple’s textbook initiative is already paying off. Users have downloaded more than 350,000 textbooks in three days, according to Global Equities Research.

Furthermore, some 90,000 users downloaded the company’s ebook authoring software, iBooks Author.

Apple launched the “Textbook” category in its iBooks app on Thursday, initially offering two textbooks from partners McGraw-Hill, Pearson and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, priced at $14.99 or less.

While I was away last week I started reading the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson.  What a great read!  The book shares amazing insight into the life of a sometimes ruthless visionary.  Reading how these guys started a company with little more than a couple hundred bucks and a garage workbench, only to have it turn unto the advertising, technology, lifestyle behemoth it is today is pretty inspiring.  The excitement and fury surrounding a startup makes me think we are doing something correctly.  The devotion that those guys poured into the firs mac makes me want to work harder and be more productive.

Hello, World.  We are Facepalm Media.

Facepalm Media is a digital agency inside of a moster radio company.  About a year ago, we started having these conversations with our clients and partners.  Conversations about website traffic, conversations about social media, display ads, paid search, etc. More and more of our conversations were shifting to our digital properties.  The radio guys weren't being taken seriously when we started pursuing some of these discussions.

Example:  I brought a colleague to an AAF meeting early on in our creation.  The topic was content strategies on social platforms.  My peers in the social / web sphere were annoyed that I allowed the "radio guy" to tag along.  They thought he was just going to take their business cards and call to sell them ads later.  I'm not saying he didn't, but we knew because of that encounter that we needed a brand.  The digital marketing people would forever be known as  "the web guys" if we didn't do something.
